Business Advice From a Successful T-Shirt Shop Owner

Tweet Sound business advice is a rare thing, so I listen when a successful shop owner drops a nugget of business advice! I recently attended the NNEP Show in Columbus last February 17-19, a valuable resource for everyone who wants to make their t-shirt decorating businesses work. And as much as I enjoy going to the show to help people make money with equipment and supplies from Imprintables Warehouse, it’s always a pleasant surprise when I listen to our customers help out our other customers with some great business advice. While explaining the benefits of adding a vinyl cutter to your business, I was interrupted by a customer that had been waiting to talk to me. She told the folks listening to my spiel that the vinyl cutter they bought had paid for itself over and over again. Then she went a step further and told these “newbies” (her word) that they needed a vinyl cutter to make their t-shirt decorating business work! But that wasn’t the best part – I had already made the decision to stay quiet and let my customer sell the vinyl cutter for me. The best part was the additional business advice that they were willing to share with a couple people that who were just starting... [Read more]

Team Wear Printing Options from Imprintables Warehouse

Tweet Team wear printing is a big part of the apparel decoration business. Spring sports season is getting closer, and that means it’s time to think about how you are going to personalize all of those teamwear uniforms for the local little leagues or soccer clubs that are about to kick off. If you’re reading this blog you likely already have a heat press, so with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of your team wear printing options: Screen Printed Heat Transfers Screen printed heat transfers like Spectra Eco Print have a soft hand and the results are most similar to screen printing. If your teams want an authentic screen print finish, this is the way to go. Companies like Transfer Express even offer pre-printed numbers and letters that you can quickly space and heat-apply in a single step. Just plan in advance how many of each number or letter you need and you won’t have to sink extra money into extra supplies. Die-cut vinyl Die-cut vinyl numbers are available from Stahls. This is a great option for team wear with a heavier vinyl finish. They’re not quite as easy to pick and place as the screen print numbers, but they are a more traditional sport... [Read more]

Cadworx Live – Tools to Follow the Hottest Trends!

Tweet Cadworx Live is a template, clip art, and graphic software designed by Groupe Stahl specifically with your business in mind. So you may have thousands of customers (good for you!) all following their own unique trends–it can be difficult to stay on top of what’s hot, and it takes so much time! Cadworx Live is a great resource and tool to efficiently take advantage of popular design trends. Bearing the Cadworx resource in mind, I was taking a look at some of the trends here at Imprintables when it comes to colors of heat transfer vinyl that get ordered. I looked at, among other things, which colors are popular in the beginning of the year and which size rolls do our customers order the most. What I found out should come as no surprise. The first thing I noticed is that our customers aren’t that much different from most of the major retailers we all frequent: your customers want their personalization to match the upcoming holiday season. Red will always be extremely popular these first couple weeks of February as Valentine’s day approches. When St Patrick’s day comes, green flies off the shelf. At Halloween, Glow in the Dark, Orange and Black... [Read more]

Sell More Decorated Apparel in 2011 – Advice from Imprintables

Tweet Sell more decorated apparel in 2011, hm? That is a great resolution, a win-win-win for everyone. 2011 is a month old already. The New Year is rolling along! Here at Imprintables, we were asked to come up with a resolution for the new year in our professional environment. In thinking about that task, I began thinking about what would be valuable to both myself and the company. Being a salesperson here, I came to the somewhat obvious conclusion that to sell more would be the most valuable thing I could do. But it was that resolution or conclusion that really got me thinking – how? How will I sell more? What can I do or not do to better achieve that goal? And I think it’s the same with any resolution we can make…if you resolved to lose 10 pounds in 3 months, how would you do that? The resolution really means nothing without a plan. Will you continue eating fatty foods every night before you go to bed? Will you start a workout regimen that is focused on cutting those pounds? Will you drink that can of soda or opt for a bottle of water instead? The questions I found myself asking were ones all focused on my goal to sell more. Will I make one more call at the... [Read more]

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Tweet So the holiday season is finally in full swing. Christmas is by far one of my favorite times of the year. Thanksgiving is over, the tree has been put up and my shopping is almost done. Since I’m so close to being done with my Christmas shopping, I decided to work on Black Friday instead of fighting through the local crowds for the best deals at Target and Walmart. While I was in the office, the Christmas decorating began… It started with the tree and some tinsel and ornaments, and before I knew it I was working in a Winter Wonderland, complete with reindeer, Santa, gifts, and of course, my stocking. We are constantly adding talented people to the staff here at Imprintables as we grow with you, our customers. Every time we add another staff member, we get to make them a personalized stocking for Christmas. I got mine last year so I decided to take a few pictures showing what it looked like…it was hung with care right on my cubicle and decorated with both Spectra Bling and Spectra Glitz (our most popular glitter materials). The silver pic is the Spectra Bling and the green pic is the Spectra Glitz. I’ll keep you posted as the presents roll in! Merry Christmas from Zach... [Read more]
